Q: What are the differences between Individual, Small Group and Large Group classes?
A: Individuals take classes at the YWC classroom based on given dates and times available on the online calendar. Small Groups are comprised of a certain amount of participants, with limits based on location. In the San Fernando Valley that will be up to 6 people; Greater Los Angeles up to 8 people; and Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Orange county it is up to 10 people. Large Groups are designated as 7 to 40 people in the San Fernando Valley; 9 to 40 in Greater Los Angeles; and 11 to 40 in
Q: How many students take a typical Individuals’ class?
A: Currently, the average class size is 8 people. However, the maximum for each class is 20 and the minimum is 1.
Q: Do any of your courses require any pre-requisites?
A: The EMT Refresher Course requires EMT certification. While the BLS Renewal Course participant must have a BLS CPR for Healthcare Provider certification.
Q: Could I arrange multiple classes for my company?
A: Absolutely! Simply fill out the group form and include your needs in the comment box. Someone will call you within the next business day to coordinate dates and times.
Q: How much is the deposit?
A: An Individual’s deposit is always nonrefundable $20, no matter which class is selected. The Group deposit is typically 25 percent of the total bill.
Q: Can I pay online, and is it safe?
A: Yes! Payment is accepted through PayPal, which is considered a safe and easy way to pay on the Internet. PayPal allows one to pay without exposing their credit card number to a merchant.
Q: How long does it take to get CPR Certification?
A: When Individuals deposit their payment online, certification will be given upon completion of the class. Groups may receive same-day certification, if the entire balance is paid and a list of participants is provided in advance. Otherwise, certification is mailed within 3 business days of the class.
Q: What is the difference between certification from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross?
A: The American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Certification is good for 2 years, without an additional cost for the certificate. This certification is also available on the day of the class.
While the American Red Cross CPR Certification is good for 1 year and First Aid Certification is good for 3 years. This requires an additional $7 for the certification, which is usually mailed out within 7 business days of the course.
Instructor Course
Q: Question, does the course have an online element or all done in the one day? I have chemistry finals that week and trying to determine the amount of study that will be needed for the course.
A: There is one prerequisite which is the Core Instructor Course Online session. You may be able to complete this assignment as soon as you enroll for the class. After that, you will be taken the 10 hours one day instructor course on May 11th. To complete your monitoring requirements you will be asked to observe one BLS class, and to teach one BLS class on your own monitored by our reviewer.

Q: How do I get the first two classes that you observe? Do I get the clients or do you?
A: For your 1st monitoring class, you will be joining to one of our BLS classes for observation. For your second/last monitoring class you may get your own students and location, coordinated with our reviewer availability.
Q: I have a latex sensitivity-are the gloves used latex free and all the equipment; normally in all my classes they don't use latex so I have not had a problem before. I can bring gloves if needed. I am sure you even use them but just need to ask.
A: I am not sure about that. I would suggest you to bring your own gloves and check with the instructor at the day of the class.
Q: When do I buy the books for the May class?
A: You buy the books at the same time you enroll for the class. We will order them just before class for all students enrolled in class at the same time.
Q: Can I mail you a check or ??
A: Enrollment is available online at Instructor Course: BLS & Heartsaver/ First Aid and payment via credit card or PayPal will be required that time. If you must use a check form, please mail in money order for Training fee + books fee and we will send you a link and instructions to enroll for the class.
Q: Once I am done with all of my classes I am guessing you will just mail me my instructor card?
A: After your last success monitoring we will be finalizing your instructor file. It should take no more than two weeks to mail you the instructor card, but that should not hold you back from start teaching.
Q: How do I get the AHA tests to administer to the class? Chris said that you would send me a pdf?
A: Once we complete processing your file, a welcome package will be emailed to you with additional instructions, all required forms and Exams.
Q: How much does it cost to rent CPR manikins from YWC?
A: The cost to rent 1 CPR manikin (any type) from YWC is $5/day. Please keep in mind that free manikins may be provided in case you teach YWC students together with your own students in the same class.
Q: Let's say I have 6 people who want to sign up with me. Do they have to sign up through a roster on yourwaycpr.com first? Or can I just make the roster and then fill it in myself online? Do my students pay me and then I pay you for the card fees?
A: Your students enroll directly with you and pay directly to you. At the end of the day, either you or your student should manually add student information to enrollware.com using option “Add student”. Your credit card on file will be charged for your card fees and roster fee upon printing and submitting cards. Please remember that any reprint due to a misspelled card will cost you $15, so you may want to find the best way to prevent misspellings.
